Mount Franklin State Park Day Trip

Wednesday we went on a small hike in Franklin Mountains State Park. Our plan was to hike to a cave on the side of the mountain. Per the instructions a short hike. The path was filled with very large jaked rocks that were dangerous to walk on for people in their 70s so we turned back. It was nice out of the house COVID activity any way even though we did not make it to the caves. This part of the mountain is visible from our house. Gary

Being a Vegetarian (a poem by Gary Bingham) Inspired by a book “The China Study”. Motivated to have a longer life free of adverse medical conditions. Delighted by great tasting recipes Living to be older than my Grandfather Being less sickly than my Father No heart attack, strokes Bothered by others, asking where I got my protein Brother-in-law’s comment “he would not become a weed eater” A few days later he died of obesity and a heart condition Using wonderful vegetarian cookbooks Planning all evening vegetarian meals Writing recipe shopping cards Cooking vegetarian dishes and receiving compliments for well prepared meals My record of no meat eaten since 2006 Determination to stick to my total elimination of meat, pork chicken and sea food from my diet Having courage to being different then the majority of Americans In 2020 more people died of heart disease then COVID.

Linda and I got our Moderna Covid shots today through the City of El Paso. Thank you El Paso. The whole process including travel time to the other part of town took 2 1/2 hours. We got their 40 minutes early. We also had to wait 15 minutes afterwards to see if we adversely reacted to the shot. I already feel sick. I react quickly to all shots.

I just made these three bottle openers to give away to guides on our trips.   I thought these would be more appreciated then wine stoppers.   Gary

Success in My Vocations (Poem by Gary Bingham)

Dreams in my youth

Playing with boys on

The play ground

Leading a squad of

Boys to play attack

Other groups of boys in mock battles

Watching movies of

Army officers at parties

Drinking, smoking, dancing and

Socializing with pretty women

Dreams of being an Army Officer

Striving for success and advancement

Goals of survival

Out last that other SOB

Be ethical in decision making

Demand that others do the same

Stay focused on the job

Excel at unit/team performance

Take small steps at a time

Work towards family stability

Be persistent, patient and determined

Being consistent in delivering expectations

Know when to stop

Being fearless

When others are shooting, seek cover

Complete academics

Study constantly

Have life goals and achieve them.
