Japan Trips 7th Report

Today’s activities were significantly effected by the typhoon. Most, many activities were canceled, rescheduled, replaced. We did not take a ferry to Miyajima Island. We did not learn how to make Momiji Manijyu. We did go for a l long bus ride to a Winery which was never on our schedule and replaced other activities because of the typhoon. The winery is very nice. The winery was the most heavily constructed of all wineries I have ever visited. The winery had received many awards. I took a picture of some of them. Many of my fellow tourists seemed to really enjoy the wine tasting. We did go to the grape fields and a few brave people walked out in the rain and mud to take pictures. Very large black grapes in bunches were impressive to look at through the windows of the bus. I did not like the long ride and I am not a winery visitor enthusiast. We did have a special luncheon of Japanese food which was very nice on return to the hotel.
The highlight of the day for me was the short order cook complimented my Japanese language usage at the breakfast meal. Wonderful. I studied for two months prior to coming on this trip and speak it daily.
This tour director, Kimi has a great personality and makes overall good decisions. I see her weak on directing us tour passengers. She does not enforce seat rotation. We have a four person click (two couples that sit side by side the front part of the bus and feel that they are entitled). I think this is sad because it is directly against Trafalgar policy. This is my fourthTrafalgar tour and in all previous tours, we were required to submit to the seat rotation policy. Too bad.
In the afternoon I went with one of my fellow tour participants to the only local store open and walked around. The store had devices that shoppers could pick up and use to look up prices. I have never seen that in U.S.A. store. Matter of trust to return the devices. I purchased some medicated tape to deal with my stiff neck. It is good and seems to work.
I also took a picture of the view outside my room window. Nice.
